The Hammerheads Swim Team
The Hammerheads are an open, supportive swim team available to children of WHSC members ages 5 to 18 of all fitness and skill levels. The Hammerheads (formerly known as the Dolphins) are charter members of the Montgomery County Swim League.
The swim team sponsors a Pup Team, which is typically for children ages 3 to 6 who are just learning to swim. Pup Team swimmers participate in swim sessions with teenagers on the swim team where the kids learn basic water skills. They also get the opportunity to "race" in B meets, in a kickboard race at halftime!
The swim team holds social activities weekly during the season. These include pancake breakfasts, pajama days, ice cream socials, pizza parties, and a giant end-of-season awards banquet with trophies and individual award plates for every swimmer.

2026 Swim Season
Swim team registration will open April 30! Practices will begin on Tuesday, May 26th, with an evaluation day for 10 & under swimmers who are brand new to the team (including those swimmers who were on Pup Team last year)! The first actual practice for all swimmers will be Wednesday, May 27th. Get ready to take the plunge!
Swim Team registration is through Swimtopia, which we use for to manage meets and track volunteer sign-ups. So stay tuned as we continue updating information!
- For 2026 the Swim Team dues are:
- $125 for each swimmer
- Pup Team (formerly known as pre-team) is $70 per swimmer
For 2026 we WILL be offering Pup Team, beginning the week of June 22nd.
